Natural Habitat

I took a brief respite from city life within the Malenadu region. I felt like a tiger released from her cage and sent back into the jungle. The undercurrent of claustrophobia that is part of me vanished completely. I wallowed in fresh air, open space and orchestras by birds. Instead of mechanically trudging around a miniscule city park, I trekked along vast fields and waterfalls. I ate fresh food brought and cooked straight from its source and served to me with love. I slept to pitch darkness and woke up fresh at dawn along with a rising sun...
Here are just some glimpses of that magical world-

Wow, Priya, these shots are GORGEOUS and give such a rich sense of PLACE! We just arrived in Rajasthan and it's cool and dusty and insane. That jungle looks pretty nice right now...

oh my!! thats a gorgeous gorgeous place!! Looks amazing.. You do simply need to get away sometimes.. Isnt it?? And somewhere in my heart.. I envy those who can just take a bus ride or train ride.. to get away from every day life..

I love the sneak peak into the painting.. Awesome!

Wow, such stunning scenery! It must have been wonderful. I get that feeling often... Desperation to get out into the wilderness to replenish.

these posts are rich in color and exploration Priya, I can see why you lost all the tension of the work-a-day world... Do you think you could live in this paradise?

@Patricia: thanks for the many comments! Yup, I envy those who can get away at a snap. Unfortunately I am not one of them and this was a rare and memorable occasion.

@Gwen: yes, I think I could live here Gwen. Somehow the frills and fancies of city life seem (rightfully)false in a place such as this.

j'aime vos photos, et l'endroit que vous montrez met du soleil sur l'hiver qui arrive... ici la neige est proche.

Oh you lucky lucky tiger you ! To get out of the cage and roam free in the jungle again, drinking at waterfalls, dining on wild pigs, napping under shady trees... a good life for a tigress...

That pic of that fat bug is wonderful. What an inspiring holiday, there's going to be a lot of charcoal used up I suspect.
